Possible Futures

If you look at the planetary situation on face value, many deep concerns emerge about the sustainability of our existence.
Basically it looks like Earth cannot support 6.5Billion people for very much longer, under the current political and social systems.
Why not? Because there are just too many of us asking too much from the planet.
- Too many resources of all types are depleted
- Too much soil is being used up,
- Too many toxins placed into natural systems
- Too many fish taken
- Too many trees chopped down
- Too much water used
- Too many species made extinct
- . . . and so on
Basically just more than the planet can sustainably provide.
If you think this viewpoint is plausible or want more background, here’s extra information on the reality in 2009
Also take stock of the actions you can take.

If you assume there is a higher intelligence or God at work in the Universe, the conclusion is there must be another agenda we can’t yet see.
This agenda appears to be to enable as many people as possible to incarnate onto the Earth in the short term.
Why the short term? Because it is clearly not sustainable for us or the planet for us all to live as we do in the long term (at least with our current political and lifestyle expectations).
This could relate to the 2012 event.

As soon as we lend enough money to the banks / insurers / auto companies / airlines / house builders / state governments etc to restore economic growth everything will be fine and dandy.
We can then get back to business as usual and winning the war on terror, the war on drugs and various other wars underway, or soon to be started

A super-advanced, “miracle”, or extra-terrestrial technology will rescue us.
This does not mean hydrogen powered cars or solar panels which just do not scale, it means a technology outside of our current view of what is possible. One that will replace our declining fossil fuel resources and avoid the effects of peak oil.
It might be a “zero point”energy source. This is a term sometimes used to describe a way of extracting energy from the Universe that breaks the laws of physics as we currently understand them.
With this, you don’t need to ‘burn’ a fuel. Rather the energy is extracted from the underlying fabric of the Universe.
This is the type of energy source portrayed in science fiction movies such as Star Trek. It’s also a popular concept for how extra-terrestrials travel (UFO propulsion etc).
The catch here is unless an advanced, energy technology is used in conjunction with a breakthrough in our ethical structures and relationship with the planet aka “lifestyle”, it is likely to further accelerate the destruction of the Earths biological, life support systems.
Sidenote: The UFO movement claims this technology already exists in government, “black ops” laboratories and was acquired by reverse engineering systems from crashed UFOs. This is unproven although many UFOs have been sighted, which don’t appear to obey the normal laws of physical movement.

What if I don’t like any of those futures? Can I trade them in for something that ends with smiles and flowers?
Answer:
Smiles and flowers are always available – you just have to watch for them moment by moment.
