Whose Fault Is The Situation?
My view is the situation is the result of:
1. The hidden agenda of our genes and their influence on our behaviour
2. The hidden agenda of a ruling elite.
Our current global civilization and it’s modus operandi is really no different in its fundamentals from any preceding civilizations. Our technology may be more advanced and the scale global, but the underlying principles are the same.
If you look at the history of the following empires or ruling bodies, they have all followed more or less the same path:
- American Empire
- Russian Empire
- British Empire
- French, German, Spanish and Portugese Empires
- The Incas
- The Church during the period 500-1600AD
- The medieval monarchies
- The Romans
Their reason for existence was ultimately to support the ruling elite in their exploitation of their own citizens and those of other conquered states.
There are differences in the scale and longevity of the different empires, but they all came to an end when they over-reached themselves and exhausted their resources or became dyfunctional due to unchecked corruption.
For sure, there are key elites today who largely dictate the global agenda and direction to their own benefit.
Some people assert that if the elite wasn’t exerting it’ s malign influence then we would all be living in peace and harmony.
I’d like to believe that but unfortunately, the evidence of our behavior just doesn’t support the assertion. our genes drive us to reproduce and do our best to ensure their survival at almost any cost. Also, most of us are capable of walking the light and dark paths at different times.
Some people are fully or mostly on the light path, others all or mostly on the dark path, many more oscillate between the two paths.
